More details from petition creator

2 recent significant car crashes on the sharp corner of Ember Ln and Chestnut Ave have resulted in cars mounting the pavement, knocking down walls, hitting parked cars and ending up in front gardens. In the latter one, police estimated the car was going over 60mph. There have been many similar incidents on this stretch of road (inc. the corner with the back entrance to Imber Ct). Cars are driving too fast on the straight stretches, taking the corners at speed (often drifting lanes) and not signalling when “turning left” onto Chestnut Avenue. It is particularly bad at night. Despite the council recognising the need for traffic calming measures, due to limited budget, they have said it will not be prioritised until there is personal injury. As a neighbourhood, we are not prepared to wait for a fatality when it is most likely to be one of us. We ask the council to prioritise action and reallocate money from property development infrastructure investment funds (especially in relation to the Orchard Lane development) to make this happen before someone is fatally injured.
