More details from petition creator

Traffic visiting this site is adding a major hazard to an already problematic stretch of road:

Westbound visitors have a restricted space in which to queue. Unless well tucked in, they constrict the A30 and cause a hazard. They have no clear view of all 3 oncoming routes (the A30, Waterers Way and the slip road) and no safe time to cross the carriageway.

Eastbound visitors face a confusion of openings, signs and bollards. Some turn into the adjacent track and reverse out onto the A30; most cause other traffic to brake suddenly as they slow to make the difficult turn into the site.

Drivers are directed to turn left on exit. Oncoming traffic is heavy, fast and obscured by vehicles parked on the slip road and street furniture. The exit layout forces drivers to cross the nearside lane and join the offside lane before pulling back in.

Logically, half the customers and service vehicles visiting the site are travelling west and wish to continue that way on exit. They are making dangerous right turns across the junction or along the A30; turning into and reversing out of Chapel Lane; or turning in other residential roads. We call on SCC to take urgent action to rectify this situation.
